What a start it’s been for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager looks like he’s been at the club years rather than a few months with his new side already adopting the way he wants his teams to play.
That was demonstrated on Saturday in the Manchester Derby as City went about playing Manchester United off the Old Trafford pitch for the first half in a frightening display of where they could be heading once they’ve worked with Pep longer as well as having the likes of Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany back.
In the more immediate future, though, is a game against Borussia Monchengladbach as City’s Champions League curtain raiser. Guardiola will have an idea of how to face the German outfit from his Bayern days but he’ll still be looking for certain players to step up to the challenge and take the game on.
And we think it’ll be this three that hold the keys to victory…
Sergio Aguero
Aguero missed the Manchester Derby through suspension but is available for European engagements and will want to show exactly why he’s to be feared in Europe this season.
If he’s on top form City really could go far and the way he’s started this year can only be a positive. The Argentine is their best player and will want to start this campaign off with a bang.

Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian was in mercurial form against Manchester United at the weekend so if he can do that on a regular basis against domestic and European opposition, City will be laughing.
There’s a real air of excitement around him whenever he gets the ball at the moment so he needs to make sure he delivers.
Claudio Bravo
It’s fair to say the Chilean import didn’t exactly have the best debut in the world in the Manchester Derby but ultimately he got away with it.
City’s fans, however, will be wondering why they’ve signed him so far so he needs to put in a good performance to allay those fears.
It could have just been first game nerves but he’ll still need to address that quickly before people get on his back.
