Manchester United flop Antony has reportedly agreed to a loan move to Real Betis and is set to fly to Seville on Friday night to sign the deal.

Manchester United signed Antony from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of £85 million. However, the Brazilian has flopped massively at Old Trafford as he has only bagged 17 goal contributions in 96 appearances. After being told by new boss Ruben Amorim that he is not in his plans for the season, Antony looks set to spend the second half of the season away from the Red Devils.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Antony has agreed to a move this month to Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis and is set to fly out to Seville on Friday night to sign a six-month loan deal with Los Verdiblancos. Additionally, no clauses have been added in the contract between Manchester United and the La Liga side regarding a permanent purchase option in the summer.

Journalist Jamie Jackson of The Guardian also revealed that Real Betis are set to take up the major chunk of Antony's £180k a-week wages as the La Liga side will bear 84 per cent of the cost and will also be liable to pay whatever bonuses included in the Brazilian's contract.

Real Betis are unlikely to have the services of Antony available for their next La Liga clash against Mallorca on Saturday, January 25, afternoon as he will need to train under Pellegrini before being utilized on the field of play. However, he could make his Los Verdiblancos debut against Athletic Club on February 2 at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
