The Bundesliga champions spent €100 million (£84m/$110m) to sign Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, making him their record signing. The England captain's arrival was seen as a statement of intent, and Bayern remains keen on strengthening their squad with elite talent.

Among the names linked to the Bavarian club is Wirtz, the highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen playmaker who has shone for both his club and the German national team. Wirtz has been widely regarded as one of the most promising players of his generation, drawing interest from several European powerhouses, including Real Madrid and Manchester City. However, Leverkusen has placed a massive €150 million (£125m/$155m) valuation on the 20-year-old, making a potential transfer a major challenge for Bayern.
WHAT EBERL SAID
Eberl emphasized that while the club remains capable of executing major signings, they will not risk their financial stability to secure a single player.
In an interview with the he said: "The club has proven, as with Harry Kane, that it can make very big transfers. But it won't be able to do that every year. That is the answer to the question. If something is feasible, FC Bayern will try to do it. But it will never put all its eggs in one basket to bring a single player to Munich."
He further highlighted the shifting dynamics in modern football, noting that German players are no longer guaranteed to choose Bayern as their first destination. Instead, they now seek clear project plans before committing to a move.
"I will never put a club in such a difficult position with my decisions that we have to cross our fingers that we don't capsize. We want our fans to dream and we want to make their dreams come true. But one thing has also changed: in the past, German players would come straight away, almost without asking, when FC Bayern called. Today, they first want to see an idea, a plan. We try to show them that."

While speculation continues about Wirtz’s future, the midfielder is reportedly in discussions with Leverkusen over a contract extension. The new deal would extend his stay until 2027, but crucially, it would include a release clause of around €125 million (£104m/$130m), which would become active in the summer of 2026. This could complicate Bayern’s hopes of securing his signature, especially with Real Madrid and Manchester City monitoring the situation closely.
