However, talks between the Selecao and Real Madrid appeared to be at the point of collapse after the veteran refused to sign on Brazil Football Confederation's (CBF) contract. later reported that CBF remains intent on securing Ancelotti as the next head coach of the national team. Despite persistent uncertainties, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues has reportedly renewed his commitment to the manager, extending the timeframe for a decision.

He added: "I’m fine. I understand that you want to talk about my future, but I do not. It’s simple. It’s a lack of communication with you. I know perfectly well what I have to do, what I am going to do and what I do, which is not to talk about my future today. I know I disappointed you today, but I don’t care."
