Erik ten Hag was sacked in October with United in 14th in the table, with Amorim bumping them up just one spot since coming in. But he'll be hopeful of further gains between now and the end of the season, especially after last weekend's impressive 2-1 win at Manchester City.

“With continued debate around how the Premier League table will look in May, we've turned to the power of AI to predict how the league will shape up and it’s safe to say some eyebrows might be raised at the results," Sam Boswell, spokesperson of BetVictor, said.
"Our supercomputer has concluded that Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United will fail to finish higher than their current position of 13th. Perhaps the uncertainty around United’s January transfer window activity and off-field discussions have contributed to their placement in the bottom half."
