Lionel Messi has delivered a “tremendous economic boost” to Jamaica on the back of one visit to the Caribbean island with Inter Miami.

On March 14, eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi formed part of a travelling Herons squad that headed out of South Florida and over to Kingston. He was named on the bench for a CONCACAF Champions Cup clash with Cavalier FC.

Messi was introduced in the second-half, much to the delight of those in the crowd, and found the target in stoppage-time as he put the seal on a 2-0 victory. Many of those in attendance were only there to see the all-time great in action.
