West Ham United trail Premier League champions Manchester City 2-1 at half-time in their Premier League clash at the London Stadium, and Irons fans have been quick to have their say on Marko Arnautovic’s display.
The Austria international started up front on his own as he has in recent weeks – with Edimilson Fernandes and Manuel Lanzini given the roles of trying to support him – but the 6ft 3in attacker was often left too isolated in the opening 45 minutes against Pep Guardiola’s men.
While David Moyes’ men did get a goal back just before the break from Aaron Cresswell, Arnautovic was visibly frustrated that his teammates weren’t getting close enough to him when they had opportunities to do so.
West Ham supporters, who slated Moyes on Twitter for the big risk he took by starting Patrice Evra, took to social media to give their thoughts on the 29-year-old, and while one said “Arnie will 100% leave us with this negative football”, another said “I sense another Payet coming”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
